As we all continue to live with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bahamian Government continues to make great efforts to open the country for the 2021 season. The information listed on this page is what we understand to be the current requirements for traveling to and departing The Bahamas – please know that these requirements change and evolve frequently. We have also included links to other relevant sites and our own ‘in-house’ documentation.
Step One:
You must obtain a negative COVID-19 RT PCR test within 5 days of your travel date. Here are two options for purchasing a PCR test if you are not able to obtain one locally.
With a negative test, you’ll then need to apply for your Bahamian travel visa. You can do that HERE. Your negative test results must be registered on the Health Visa site within five days before your arrival. We highly recommend registering your results just as soon as you receive them.
The cost of your travel visa is dependent upon the length of your stay, it is required to opt-in for mandatory COVID-19 health insurance. This insurance will cover you for the duration of your trip in the Bahamas & the cost is included in the travel visa application fee.
(Be sure to print out the accepted Bahamian travel visa, as well as a copy of your negative COVID-19 RT PCR test, so that you may present this to officials throughout your travels).
Step Three:
Throughout your stay with us at Andros South, you will be required to complete a daily online health questionnaire for symptom tracking purposes. Also, please be aware, the Bahamian government has mandated the use of face masks.
If your stay in the Bahamas will be longer than 4 nights & 5 days, it is required to obtain a Rapid COVID-19 Antigen 96 hours after your arrival. This test can be administered by our staff on-site at Andros South Lodge. It is very simple & provides quick results.
Step Four:
As of January 26, 2021, the CDC will require a Rapid COVID-19 Antigen test taken within 72 hours of your re-entry into the US. Again, Andros South Lodge will have these tests on hand and they can be administered by our staff. For more information concerning the CDC requirement, you can read more Here.
These tests are being provided to us by the Living with COVID Coalition, you can read more about them HERE.
